Preparation
First, beat the margarine with the sugar using a hand mixer (beaters) until light and fluffy.
Then add the lemon juice and the eggs and mix them into the batter.
The baking powder should be mixed with the flour before it is added to the dough.
Now stir everything into a homogeneous mixture and preheat the oven to 180° Celsius (top and bottom heat).
Grease the pan thoroughly and sprinkle with breadcrumbs.
Now one half of the dough goes into the pan, the other remains in the mixing bowl.
The second half of the dough is now enhanced with cocoa before it meets the light dough.
For a nice pattern, drag a fork through the batter to create particularly delicate marbling.
Bake the cake on the middle rack for about 55–70 minutes, then let the cake cool briefly in the pan and turn it out onto a plate or platter.
Tips & Notes
The marble cake works best in a bundt pan and also looks excellent visually.
