Chocolates are the crowning glory of any cookie platter. They not only look sophisticated, they also taste stunningly good. And the nice thing is, chocolates are usually not that hard to make yourself. Here I have a very good and easy recipe for rum balls:

Preparation
Bring the whipping cream briefly to a boil in a saucepan and immediately remove from the heat.
Immediately add the milk chocolate in pieces and stir until melted.
Let the mixture cool slightly.
Meanwhile, toast the hazelnuts briefly in a dry pan, then let them cool slightly.
Combine the nuts with the cocoa, butter and rum to form a mixture and stir into the chocolate mixture.
Then put the chocolate-rum mixture in the refrigerator and let it firm up for at least 1 hour.
Fill 2 bowls with desiccated coconut and/or chocolate sprinkles.
Use a small spoon to scoop out cherry-sized balls of the mixture and roll them into balls with your hands.
Wash your hands from time to time, otherwise the mixture will stick to them.
Immediately roll the balls in the desiccated coconut or chocolate sprinkles and place them in the paper cups.
Press the sprinkles firmly with your fingers.
Keep the rum balls in a cool place.
