I have wanted to make a roast pork myself for a very long time. I finally dared to do it with friends, and we cooked such a good roast pork together that I naturally have to leave the recipe here for you:

Ingredients

Preparation

  1. Anyone who bought the roast pork without spices should rub it with garlic, salt, and pepper. To do this, peel the garlic and press it through a garlic press, rub it all over with the garlic, as well as with salt and pepper. Finally, sprinkle generously with caraway seeds.

  2. Preheat the oven to 200°C (392°F) top and bottom heat. Heat some oil in a large pan and sear the roast pork on all sides.

  3. Place the roast pork in a large roasting pan and pour the broth over it. Place the whole thing on the bottom rack of the oven.

  4. Let the meat cook in the oven at 200°C for 1 to 2 hours. Important: Baste the roast pork with the broth about every 15 minutes so that it stays nice and juicy. If there is not enough liquid in the pan, simply add more broth.

  5. To check if the roast is done, pierce the meat with a metal skewer; if bloody juice still comes out, leave it in the oven longer. However, if the liquid is clear, the roast is cooked through and can be served.

  6. Our roast pork was in the oven for almost 2 hours, and we didn't always baste it exactly every 15 minutes, but we did it repeatedly. The meat became so tender. The roast is a poem. Of course, it also depends on the quality of the meat; the roast pork was bought at a good local butcher nearby.
