I really enjoy pastries, and fruit dumplings are among my favorites. Here I have a version of quark dumplings filled with strawberries. Delicious:

Preparation
For the quark dough, mix the margarine, powdered sugar, vanilla sugar, salt and lemon zest into a dough (best with a hand mixer).
Then add the quark, eggs, semolina and 120 g breadcrumbs and knead well with your hands.
Wrap the whole in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
Wash the strawberries and cut them into small pieces.
With floured hands, shape small dumplings and press a piece of strawberry into the center, then seal well.
Place the finished dumplings on a floured cutting board.
Bring water with a pinch of salt to a boil in a large pot.
Add the fruit dumplings and let simmer for about 10 minutes.
The dumplings should float to the top — then they are cooked.
Meanwhile, toast the 100 g breadcrumbs and the powdered sugar in a little butter in a pan; it should be lightly golden brown.
Lift the dumplings out of the water individually with a sieve and place them into the breadcrumb mixture, rolling them lightly so everything is coated.
Tips & Notes
The dumplings can be sprinkled with a little powdered sugar and cinnamon. This dough can of course be filled with different types of fruit: apricots, plums, raspberries, etc.
