It was supposed to be a vegan apple tart for Dad, so my daughter found a great recipe on the internet and baked it. The apple cake is really easy to make and tastes really good, I can highly recommend it. Here is the recipe:

Recipe for a vegan apple crumble tart with only 8 ingredients

Variations:

  • use the same amount of spelt flour instead of wheat flour
  • use 200 g spelt flour and 100 g fine rolled oats instead of wheat flour
  • add 200 g spelt flour and 100 g roasted, ground hazelnuts instead of wheat flour

We really enjoyed the apple tart, it was also very easy to prepare.

Ingredients

Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 180° C with top and bottom heat.

  2. Grease the tart pan with a little plant-based margarine.

  3. Peel, core, and cut the apples into small cubes.

  4. In a pot, simmer with 2 tbsp water, 2 tbsp sugar, and cinnamon over medium heat for 10 minutes.

  5. Stir occasionally.

  6. Set the apple compote aside and let it cool.

  7. Mash the banana with a fork and knead it with flour, margarine, and sugar into a dough.

  8. If you have one, put the ingredients in your stand mixer and let the dough hook do the work.

  9. Now press 3/4 of the dough into the tart pan, making sure to cover the rim as well; reserve the remaining dough for the streusel.

  10. When the apple compote has cooled, spread it over the tart and distribute the remaining dough as small streusel clumps on top.

  11. Bake the apple tart in the oven at 180° C on the middle rack for about 35 minutes until light golden brown.
