Decoration flower made of gherkin, carrots and corn

I was looking for a recipe for a vegan spread for a party at our home. During my research, I came across a vegan bean spread. The ingredients are not unusual (I easily found the almond butter at Billa) and the instructions are short and sweet. If you are curious, you can find the recipe below:

Extra tip:If you would like to recreate our decoration, here are the instructions for that too:

Flower decoration

Ingredients:

  • Carrot slices
  • Pickles
  • Corn kernels
  • possibly small marzipan cutters

Instructions:

For the flower, cut 2/3 of the gherkin into strips, so don't cut all the way through so that it still holds together. Place the gherkin on the spread. Now arrange a flower out of carrot slices (ours are simply raw!) over the gherkin; to do this, arrange 2 circles of carrot slices. Leave some space in the middle and insert the corn. Depending on the space, several flowers or, as in our case, a second one can be suggested.

Extra tip:Cut small figures out of the carrot with a marzipan cutter and top with a corn kernel; it also looks very pretty.

Ingredients

Preparation

  1. For the spread, drain the beans from the can, rinse them and let them drain well.

  2. Now pick the leaves off the thyme and wash them, or take the dried thyme leaves from the packet and add them to the beans.

  3. Crush the garlic clove with a garlic press and also add it to the bowl.

  4. Squeeze a lemon and add a generous tablespoon of its juice, as well as 1 tablespoon of olive oil, to the spread.

  5. Puree everything until creamy using a blender.

  6. Season the spread with salt and pepper and serve garnished with a little olive oil and thyme leaves.
