Nutty macaroons are easy to make and taste very good. Here I have a variation with walnuts and hazelnuts, which are also decorated with chocolate and a walnut:

Extra tip: If you don't have wafers, you can also bake the macaroons directly on the baking paper.

Preparation
Preheat the oven to 160 °C (top and bottom heat), line the baking sheets with parchment paper and the wafer papers.
Beat the egg whites with a hand mixer until very stiff, then slowly add the powdered sugar.
Then add the salt and the lemon juice.
Continue beating the mixture until it has a matte sheen and forms white peaks.
Now add the ground nuts and the cinnamon.
Using 2 teaspoons, place small heaps on the wafers and bake in the oven at 160 °C for 20 minutes until light.
After cooling, halve the walnut kernels and melt the couverture in a water bath.
Use a spoon to place a dollop of chocolate on each macaroon and decorate with a walnut half.
