Who is behind meinhaushalt.at?

For everyone who would like to know who is behind this site and why I created such a site, here are a few lines.

I have always been fascinated by what you can conjure up with – at first glance inconspicuous – household remedies. In the past, I used to save newspaper clippings and create folders, but they just gathered dust and perhaps even ended up in the basement, meaning you don't really look at the stuff anymore. For me, everything always has to be quick and easy, and what could be faster than typing a few keywords into a search field and then getting lots of tips and tricks, or even finding related articles.

Another reason for many of my tips: I don't want to constantly attack everything with pure chemicals. Often you don't need much and get the same or even better results. Of course, that's not always the case, but I always like to try natural remedies first.

I also want to collect some tips on the topic of saving money here. Especially in times like these, it is a big topic and it makes sense to implement cost-saving measures in the household. There are many ways to save money (or sometimes time) here. Of course, it is important to me to reuse many things; you can craft or redesign beautiful things out of many items.

Since I have become a mother of wonderful twins, I would like to share my practical experiences with others here and would be happy to receive tips on this topic myself. I have also started a column on this topic, where everyday situations are told with a wink. This is only for amusement, and perhaps so that some parents can find themselves in it and lean back in a relaxed way, thinking: "Oh, that happens to others too!" I want to counteract the perfect social media image, so my photos are not perfect either, but just the way it looks at my place, without filters and without 50 shots for one photo.

One of my hobbies is decorations for tables and rooms. I think it's nice when a few Easter eggs hang on palm branches at Easter or Christmas baubles lie in a bowl at Christmas. Here too, my motto is that it must be simple and not too expensive.

Another hobby has become baking. I really like it when I can conjure up beautiful cakes and tarts. Meanwhile, my daughter bakes with me and it is a lot of fun.

Thus, many tips, even from grandma's times, are to be listed here so that they are not forgotten and can be applied.

Have fun browsing and trying them out!
